Prayer to the Blessed Virgin Mary for peace

Blessed Virgin Mary, Mother of God and Queen of Peace,
we come before you with confidence,
asking your maternal intercession for a world wounded by hatred, fear, and violence.

You welcomed the Prince of Peace into the world.
Teach us to welcome Him into our hearts.
Where there is unrest, obtain serenity.
Where there is anger, obtain meekness.
Where there is hatred, obtain mercy.
Where there is despair, obtain hope.

Mother most pure,
disarm the hardness of our hearts.
Help us renounce pride, contempt, and the desire to dominate others.
Teach families to forgive, communities to reconcile, and nations to seek justice with wisdom.

Protect the innocent, comfort the afflicted, strengthen those who work for peace,
and convert those who sow division and destruction.

May the peace of Christ reign in our thoughts, our words, our homes, and our world.
And may your maternal mantle cover all peoples in this hour of need.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us.
Queen of Peace, pray for us.
